美的生活电器事业部成立于2002年，是美的日用家电集团成员，其前身为1994年成立的美的电饭煲公司，是厨房电热产品专业制造服务商，年销售规模30亿元人民币，主要产品包括电饭煲、电磁炉、饮水机、电水壶、电火锅、慢炖锅、油炸锅等，年产各类电器4000万台。事业部拥有中国的研发中心和研发手段，拥有包括日本、韩国专家在内的超过300人的中国的研发专家队伍，所有产品均获得CCC和ETL、GS、UL等国内外安全认证，并获得2002年度产品资格。2004年9月，美的电饭煲荣获中国产品称号；2005年3月，统计局中国行业企业信息发布中心发布，美的电饭煲、电磁炉、电水壶、电火锅囊括了2004年度全国市场同类产品销售量、销售额、市场占有率三个项目的十二个。
